Prepare ahead with our Wardrobe Tips!

How to Prepare:

.) Please come prepare with your outfit of choice already on! Don't forget any accessories or props if needed.

.) If you hire a hair and make up stylist, you must be ready by the start of your photo appointment.

.) Ironed/Pressed - It is ideal if you can bring your clothing already ironed, steamed or pressed, and in a garment bag to try to keep them wrinkle free. It is understood that this is not always possible, and that things can and will wrinkle with travel.

.) Shoes/Socks/Accessories – Don’t forget to bring coordinating shoes and accessories for the clothing you bring. Things like belts, different colored socks (especially black for men’s dress pants), or white undershirt for light color dress shirts.

.) Solid colors are good as well as pastels and Jewel tones are good, but not vivid, ‘glowing’ colors (i.e. neon).

.) Avoid all solid black. There are exceptions to this, but an alternative is grays, browns, or navy if dark colors are what you want.

.) Avoid all solid white (exceptions apply as well), but an alternative is Off-white, cream, ivory, beige, soft yellow, light blue – these colors can all give a soft, lighter look.

.) If white or black is chosen, try to at least combine it with a complimentary color, for example, if you’re going to wear a white/ivory shirt/top, try to combine it with a navy blue suit jacket over it. Or if you’re going to wear a black jacket, try wearing a lighter top underneath such as light gray, or ivory color to add a nice complimentary balance. See some of the samples for inspiration.

.) Avoid Logos or written words on clothing.

.) Avoid small thin stripes or plaided clothing, small patterns or too busy patterns (squares/lines/dots). They can cause what’s called a moiré pattern (wavy lines) with digital photography, which looks like an optical illusion. It can be very distracting and not camera-friendly.
