SDSU Grad Photos (prices and options below)
If you are graduating from SDSU this spring or winter, now is the time to start planning your graduation photo session. Only a limited number of SDSU grads are accepted each year especially during the busy season. So start thinking about your grad photo session now!
SDSU's campus is beautiful in the Spring season because there is a lot of flowers that are blooming at once. Flowers can add some color and visual interest in your pictures and there are many great spots for grad photos where flowers can make a difference, such as Hepner Hall, the turtle pond near the Scripps Cottage and other spots where you can get some nice roses, or combination of pink, white or red flowers near the trees.
Of course, there are other spots to add some variety in your photos such as the green or teal doors, the library, or the Aztec Student Union! And sure there are other locations around beautiful San Diego, but I photograph a lot of graduation photos at the SDSU campus because we can create a variety of looks there without having to leave to another location.
For example, most grads will wear their cap, gown, and stole on campus and choose a different outfit for the second part of the photoshoot. Once you are getting photographed, you will see that the SDSU campus offers greenery, historic architecture, but more importantly, the Aztec spirit! And of course, adding some props in the mix can make it more fun. So before you explore other areas in San Diego, it's best to start with photos at SDSU!

Wardrobe Tips:
PLEASE DO
1.) Please come prepare with your outfit of choice already on! Don't forget any accessories or props if needed. Please open your cap and gown package, and try it on to make sure it fits you correctly before you schedule the photo session.
2.) If you hire a hair and make up stylist, you must be ready by the start of your photo appointment.
3.) Ironed/Pressed - It is ideal if you can bring your clothing already ironed, steamed or pressed, and in a garment bag to try to keep them wrinkle free. It is understood that this is not always possible, and that things can and will wrinkle with travel.
4.) Shoes/Socks/Accessories – Don’t forget to bring coordinating shoes and accessories for the clothing you bring. Things like belts, different colored socks (especially black for men’s dress pants), or white undershirt for light color dress shirts.
5.) Solid colors are good as well as pastels and Jewel tones are good, but not vivid, ‘glowing’ colors (i.e. neon).
6.) Avoid all solid black. There are exceptions to this, but an alternative is grays, browns, or navy if dark colors are what you want.
7.) Avoid all solid white (exceptions apply as well), but an alternative is Off-white, cream, ivory, beige, soft yellow, light blue – these colors can all give a soft, lighter look.
8.) If white or black is chosen, try to at least combine it with a complimentary color, for example, if you’re going to wear a white/ivory shirt/top, try to combine it with a navy blue suit jacket over it. Or if you’re going to wear a black jacket, try wearing a lighter top underneath such as light gray, or ivory color to add a nice complimentary balance. See some of the samples for inspiration.
9.) Avoid Logos or written words on clothing.
10.) Avoid small thin stripes or plaided clothing, small patterns or too busy patterns (squares/lines/dots). They can cause what’s called a moiré pattern (wavy lines) with digital photography, which looks like an optical illusion. It can be very distracting and not camera-friendly.

FAQ:
How do I book and pay for your service?
Please send an email to info@theglarephotography.com or call during business hours at (619) 866-8101 to check for availability first. Once a time/day has been arranged, you may reserve your photo appointment with a $25 retainer which is applied towards your total balance of the package you choose. You may pay your $25 reservation with debit/credit or PayPal online here. Finally, you may pay the remainder of your photo package due on the same day of your session.
Do I get all of my photos after?
You will receive the amount of images stated to be included in the package you select, however substandard shots such as blinking eyes, blurry or lighting test shots will be discarded. The goal is to give you as much variety as possible but you don't need to be sorting through blinking eye shots! You will then receive an email to download your final images along with your own personal printing rights. No watermark on your photos!
Can I do my own printing?
Yes, when you purchase a session, you will get all of your digital files in print quality resolution along with your own personal printing rights. You can print in any of your favorite places.
Can I bring a second outfit?
Yes, you can bring your cap and gown, and another formal/casual outfit of your choice already on. Solid/pastel colors are recommended over wardrobe with patterns (Stripes, dots, squares, flowers etc..) See wardrobe tips above. If you want an additional outfit change, you may do so if time allows it. It's best to book the one hour session to have the most time and variety.
Can I bring props?
Yes, you can bring your own props such as grad signs, balloons or decorated caps. Please check with SDSU policy regarding glitter, confetti and Champagne as we are not liable for any violations of leaving glitter/confetti or Champagne on the ground.
What do I bring?
Please come prepare with your cap and gown, tassel and medal! You don't have to have it on when we meet, but have it ready to go on a hanger. Please open your cap and gown package, and try it on to make sure it fits you correctly before you schedule the photo session.
